If you just want a general AI assistant, these are the big three. Each has a free plan, so the cheapest test is to give all three the same real task and keep the one whose answer you would actually use.

Which AI should I use: ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?
All three have a free plan, so try the same real task in each. ChatGPT is a broad all-rounder, Claude is strong on long documents, writing and coding, and Gemini fits best if you work in Gmail, Docs and Drive. For a specific job, such as customer support or social posts, a specialised tool may fit better; the quiz on this page suggests up to three.
