Automated QA and end-to-end testing
Explores your app, writes tests, runs them on every release and tells you what really broke.

The job
An agent or platform that maps your app's user flows, creates end-to-end tests, runs them in CI, investigates failures and updates tests when the interface changes.
Why it is hard
- Flaky tests (passing and failing at random) destroy trust faster than no tests.
- The UI changes constantly, so tests have to be maintained, not just written.
- Test data, logins and third-party services are hard to make repeatable.
- It is hard to tell a real bug from a bad test automatically.
What a good setup needs
Tools
- An end-to-end test framework (Playwright) or an AI testing platform (QA Wolf, mabl)
- A stable staging environment with seeded data and test accounts
- CI that runs tests on every pull request or deploy
- An AI-assisted way to repair tests when selectors change
Guardrails
- Run only against staging with fake data
- Quarantine flaky tests and track them separately from real failures
- Keep a human-readable bug report with a recording for each failure
- Never let an agent edit a test just to make it pass without review
Human-in-the-loop points
- A person triages new failures for the first weeks
- A person approves AI-written or AI-repaired tests before they gate releases
- A person owns the list of critical flows
How to start small
Start here: Cover your five most important user flows first (sign-up, login, checkout and so on) and get them stable before adding more.
How to know it works: Share of failures that are real bugs, and time from deploy to a trusted pass or fail signal.

Quick answers
Can AI replace a QA team?
Not completely. AI can write and maintain a lot of end-to-end tests, but people still decide what matters, triage failures and judge whether a behavior is a bug.
Should I build with Playwright or buy a platform?
Playwright gives you control and costs engineering time. Platforms such as QA Wolf and mabl trade money for less maintenance. Our listings show how each is priced.
